Richard Wright, keyboardist/pianist, of Pink Floyd died today at the age of 65 at his home in
Britain of a yet undisclosed form of cancer.

Wright, who was a founding member of Pink Floyd, was a strong musical force in the early days of Pink Floyd.  Wright, was less concentrated on the writing and singing of the songs was a much more concentrated musician focusing more on his keyboarding and the melodies and background of the songs that were writing mainly by Waters, Gilmour and Barrett.

His distinctive style can be heard on songs like, “Interstellar Overdrive”, “A Saucerful of Secrets”,  “Careful With That Axe”, and “One of These Days” to name a few.  His creative style with the synthesizer can be heard very clearly on tracks like “Money” and “Sheep”.

Wright was survived by his third wife, Millie, and three children.
